SalesPad Advanced Pricing for Business Central automates pricing rules to maintain profitability on every sales order without manual intervention.
Price Priority determines which price rule applies when multiple rules exist. Options include Lowest Price, Highest Price, or a custom Sequence. In Sequence mode, Price Sources can be reordered to establish hierarchy between rules — for example, Contract pricing can be set to override Group pricing.
Pricing Settings control whether sales reps can manually override pricing automation and whether prices apply to a specific date field. These settings can be changed at any time.
Reusable Filters allow users to build Customer, Document, Item, and Sales Line data filters that can be layered together. A single Document Filter can account for a specific ship-to address, warehouse location, and shipping method code, enabling special pricing logic to trigger whenever that combination appears on an order.
Price Expressions can be written using BC data fields as variables and reused across pricing rules to automate price calculations.
Mass Update functionality allows bulk price changes across BC, such as updating a fixed price or applying a time-limited discount.
Group Pricing lets users build Pricing Groups based on BC data to apply cost-plus markups and other strategies. Each Pricing Group can be used in multiple pricing models. Filters applied to a Pricing Group control when it activates — for example, a Sales Line filter on a warehouse location code ensures the group only applies to orders shipping from that location. Discounts and quantity breaks can be added for specific items or item categories. When an item is added to a sales order, the price adjusts immediately based on the active Pricing Group. The Price Trace screen shows which Pricing Group was used as the source for a given order line.
Example: A 35% markup over unit cost on a specific item means that when a supplier increases the unit cost from $781 to $782, the unit price adjusts automatically on the next order without any manual update or sales rep intervention.
Contract Pricing tracks and manages customer contracts, including contract type, date range, contracted items, special prices, and committed quantities. As orders are placed under a contract, the sold quantity and remaining balance update automatically. When a contracted item is added to a sales order, the contract price is applied automatically. The Price Trace view confirms the price source as the contract. Once a contract expires or its volume is exhausted, the system will not apply the contract price.
Pricing Groups support multi-dimensional logic by combining Customer, Document, and Sales Line data fields — including custom SalesPad fields such as customer ABCD profitability scores — to segment customers and apply differentiated pricing. Multiple Pricing Groups can run simultaneously with distinct names, date ranges, and statuses. Quantity breaks within a Pricing Group allow markup percentages to decrease as order quantity increases. Pricing Configuration sets global rules for how conflicting pricing groups are resolved.
